Welcome
PlotProfound is an independent magazine and reader community about stories, imaginary worlds, cinema, television, animation and literature. We want it to be easy to explore, interesting to read, and respectful of the people who make and enjoy creative work.
By using the website or creating an account, you agree to these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you have questions, email contact@plotprofound.com.
Independent publication
PlotProfound publishes independent criticism, research, commentary, original editorial illustrations and educational experiences. Names of fictional worlds, books, films, characters and their related trademarks belong to their respective owners. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, PlotProfound and Prakaytis Media are not officially affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by those rights holders.
We do not grant visitors a license to reproduce third-party franchise material and do not claim ownership of those underlying works.
Your reader account
A free account can provide saved readings, notes and highlights, profile tools, accessible quizzes, collectible awards and participation in discussions. Create an account using an email address you control; keep access to that email secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and must not impersonate another person, evade account restrictions, or use bots or the site to distribute spam.
Reader accounts are not intended for children under 13. Users must also meet any higher minimum-age or parental-permission requirements that apply where they live.
Your public name, avatar and comments may appear on the site. Your collection and aggregate reading statistics are private by default, and you can choose to display them through your profile settings. Private annotations and billing information are not displayed publicly.
Free, VIP and Patron access
Free readers may use the reading tools and access public content and accessible collectible quizzes. VIP membership provides access to the full selection of restricted articles, studies and collectible quizzes while the membership is active. Patron includes VIP access and the option to choose a public name for the Hall of Thanks. Insignias are earned by passing eligible quizzes; payment alone does not award them.
Content availability may change for editorial, copyright, licensing, technical or safety reasons. We aim to preserve personal reading records and awards even if a paid plan ends, subject to lawful account deletion, technical limitations and these Terms.
Paid memberships and recurring billing
Our currently advertised recurring plans are:
- VIP Weekly: US$1 each week.
- VIP Monthly: US$4 each month.
- VIP Annual: US$40 each year.
- Patron Annual: US$96 each year.
The billing amount, interval, applicable taxes (if any), payment method and renewal terms should be shown again before you authorize checkout. Payment processing is provided through PayPal. Plans renew automatically unless you cancel before the next renewal. If prices or material terms change, we will provide notice and obtain any additional authorization required by law or the payment provider.
You may cancel automatic renewal using the cancellation options available through your PlotProfound membership account or PayPal, or request assistance at contact@plotprofound.com.
Once cancellation is confirmed, future recurring charges for that subscription should stop. The date on which paid access ends will depend on the membership arrangement and applicable consumer-protection law. We will provide clear cancellation instructions and information about access after cancellation before accepting paid subscriptions.
If your PlotProfound membership status and PayPal subscription status do not agree, please contact us so we can investigate.
Refunds and payment problems
Contact contact@plotprofound.com with any billing error, duplicate charge or refund request. We consider requests based on the circumstances, payment-provider rules and applicable consumer-protection law. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory refund or cancellation rights. If a charge was made after confirmed cancellation, contact us promptly so we can investigate.
Articles, quizzes and collections
Editorial content is provided for information, enjoyment and discussion. Interpretations and reconstructions may be uncertain and are not official statements by rights holders. Quiz answers are prepared from identified sources but may be corrected if new information emerges. We may amend, remove or reclassify articles, questions or collectible artwork when necessary. Badges represent participation in PlotProfound’s learning experiences, not cryptocurrency, financial assets or items that can be exchanged for cash.
Comments and community conduct
Visitors can read public comments. Posting requires a signed-in account and access to the relevant content. Be respectful, criticize ideas rather than people, avoid harassment and discriminatory abuse, and use spoiler warnings where appropriate. Do not post infringing material, private personal information, malicious code, misleading commercial promotions or spam. We may automatically screen or hold comments, remove unsuitable material or restrict accounts. See our Community Guidelines.
You retain any rights you hold in comments you submit. By posting, you give PlotProfound permission to store, display, and reproduce those comments as technically necessary for operating the website, and to moderate them. You must have the necessary rights to anything you post. We may remove comments that violate these Terms or applicable law.
Copyright and permitted use
Original PlotProfound text, layouts and other original materials are protected as applicable; underlying fictional worlds and third-party works remain their respective owners’ property. You may link to our pages and quote reasonable excerpts with attribution where lawful. Do not republish entire articles, scrape the collection catalog for redistribution, copy artwork for sale, or present PlotProfound work as your own without permission or other lawful basis.

Service changes and availability
We work to keep the site available but cannot promise uninterrupted access. We may maintain, improve or discontinue features. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes to paid membership features and provide remedies where required by law.
Responsibility and mandatory rights
We provide commentary and learning experiences, not legal, medical, financial or professional advice. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without a guarantee that every article, comment or third-party link is accurate or continuously available. Nothing in these Terms removes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Contact and disputes
For account questions, billing disputes or rights requests, contact contact@plotprofound.com. We will make a reasonable effort to resolve concerns directly. Any legal rights, choice-of-law provisions and dispute forums that must apply under a visitor’s local mandatory law remain unaffected. We have not added a blanket exclusive-jurisdiction clause.
Changes to the Terms
If we change these Terms materially, we will update the date above and provide any notice required by applicable law. Continued use following effective changes may indicate acceptance only where legally permitted.
